Why you should wear SPF
Prevention is always the easiest and best way to go around when it comes to sun damage and Sunscreen is the way to go!
Not sold on the whole sunscreen shenanigans? Let’s revise some facts:
Sunscreen protects your skin from all UV radiation damage. This is known as photodamage and permanently damages the skin’s structure -causing DNA changes at a cellular level.
It is a long haul game. Just because you don’t see the damage overnight, does not meat it’s not happening. Photodamage happens in the deepest layers of the skin—the dermis— and it can take years before the damage surfaces and becomes visible.
Mineral/Physical Sunscreen works almost identically to Chemical Sunscreen.
It’s a big factor in preventing/lowering risk of skin cancer end of story.
It does not go into your blood stream (d’oh, your skin is not a sponge).
The science show that Sunscreen does not harm corals.
And lets not forget the benefits:
Healthy skin cells = healthy skin. Essential proteins in the skin are protected when sunscreen is applied and your cells do not deal with UV radiation damage. Overall win win.
Even complexion - helps prevent hyperpigmentation due to sun damage.

SPF is not the end all be all, but it is the NR 1 product that I recommend in a routine. Good habits are amazing to form and not easy at all. Start slow and remember you are doing this for yourself.
Now here are some Sun Safety tips even if you apply SPF:
Avoid long term sun exposure even if you apply SPF. Don’t solely rely on it.
Clothes that are sun-protective are becoming more common. If you have to stay in the sun for long hours, try looking into them.
Reapply every 2 hours (or as recommended) when you are in direct sun exposure for long periods of time. Keep in mind that your body sweats and that you constantly touch yourself without noticing.
